Like the cloud-covered sky these past few days and the recently released infamous movie, grey – all 50 shades of it – is all the rage at the moment.
Commonly associated with conformity and modesty, this colour evokes various other emotions and ideals due to it’s different associations. It’s the hue linked to ash and marble, the wolf, and the dove.
Grey was the colour most often worn by fashionably dressed women during the Victorian era and the dashing urban male of the 1950s and 1960s, with the grey suit favoured by cinematic icons Cary Grant and Humphrey Bogart.

I actually have the leather skirt from H&M that features below and I love it (I know it’s not grey, but the style is very flattering and slightly edgy, so I wanted to share it). It was a recent purchase from the new store at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre in Brisbane.
