March Beauty Favourites

March Beauty Favourites

I can’t believe it’s almost April already! The start of the year has flown by.

Here’s the items in the My Eclectic Muse beauty rotation that were among my most-used products this month:

  • original_CWVO5 Texturising Spray
  • Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser
  • CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Shadow in Country Woods
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Lovers Coral

Beauty reviews for each of these products are below and if you want to know more about any of the March Beauty Favourites, simply click the product title for a link to the relevant company website, or ask using the comments section.

VO5 Dry Texturising Spray

This dry texturising spray is a sea salt spray formulated to give a tousled effect to layers and waves.

8844674760734It has a light hold to help keep styles in place.

It feels a bit like hairspray when you first use it, but it doesn’t leave your hair feeling crispy like hairspray does.

I just spray it one my hair and rub it in.

I love the instant texture and volume it creates and that is also doubles as a dry shampoo. It’s perfect for creating loose wave styles.

The smell is pleasant, but not too strong, which I like.

CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Shadow in Country Woods

51BhYsXMZ4L._SL290_AA290_The Country Woods palette colours are very neutral and are perfect for creating a subtle day-time, work appropriate, look.

You can experiment using them together or as single shades.

The colours blend together well, with just a hint of shimmer that can help make your eye look go from day to night.

Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser

I have been using this product daily for the last couple of months and have been impressed with how gentle the cleanser is on my skin and how effectively it removes dirt and make-up, leaving my skin feeling fresh and clean.

8699504102_95cb68e14e_oThe cleanser contains ingredients derived from coconut, corn, willow bark (a natural salicylic acid) and guar bean.

It comes in a pump bottle that makes dispensing the product easy.

I have quite dry skin naturally, and don’t often break-out except on occasion.

This product works well for my skin type as it’s quite gentle and non-greasy.

I like the fact that the cleanser removes my make-up well, although sometimes I need to wash twice around my eyes before my mascara is completely removed.

After using this, I follow up by applying a toner and moisturiser.

I also use the Purifying Pore Scrub from Neutrogena a couple of times a week in conjunction with this product.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Lovers Coral

I’m surprised to see this on my March favourites list, as when I first bought it a couple of months ago the lipstick didn’t meet my expectations. Now I know what to expect I am loving it for it’s pros, rather than focusing on the cons.

11082478_10155397854160504_2218767372699743438_o (1) (1)Lovers Coral is a peach/coral shade that suits my skin tone (quite fair, as you can see from the photo on the right). I’m loving peachy tones at the moment!

It has a “Shine” finish, which delivers lightweight colour and moisturising shine. It has buildable colour (to an extent) and even with my quite pigmented lips, I can still see a really pretty coral tint.

It’s also more moisturising than most lipsticks I’ve tried, which is a definite bonus.

So, what are the cons that initially put me off? It has quite a sheer tint and doesn’t have long lasting power. It only lasts about 2-3 hours before reapplication is needed.

It’s a pretty lip shade and overall I would recommend this product for those who are searching for a lipstick at a lower price point to wear every day for work (like I  have been) or uni. The lipstick gives you a bit of colour boost, without making you look too overdone.

Thanks for reading!

Edited 1 (1)I hope you enjoyed this post and finding out what beauty products I’ve been loving this month.

After writing the reviews I realised that all of the items are on the lower end of the market price point wise.

All can be bought at most chemist and supermarket chains.

Although I am very happy with all of these beauty products and will definitely be using them until they’ve run out, I’d still be interested in trying other texturising sprays and coral lipstick shades in the future.

If you have any recommendations I’d love you to pop a comment below.

I haven’t seen this dry texturing spray near me but it sounds like exactly the type of product my wavy hair needs! I’d love for you to share a post at my link up tomorrow, if you’re interested! There’s an explanation of what it is on my main menu under ‘Tell ’em Tuesdays’

I only just recently stumbled upon this particular texturising spray and as it was at a discounted price thought (very luckily), “why not?”. ‘Tell ’em Tuesdays is a cool concept! Thanks for letting me know about it and stopping by 🙂

Lovey to hear my post was useful! I like the texturiser for my roots especially, as my ends are quite wavy naturally, so it gives a slight volume boost and makes second day hair a lot better.
