Here’s where you need to visit on the Sunshine Coast

One of my favourite childhood memories is a family holiday to Coolum Beach.

I was curious to experience this Sunshine Coast suburb again and absolutely loved going for a long weekend getaway recently; it’s got such a great laidback feel to it.

Coolum is centrally located and seems less crowded than many of the other beachside holiday destinations.

The beach is as beautiful as you’ll find anywhere – expect long stretches of white sand, sweeping views and good surf – and the street adjacent to the surf is great to stroll along, with cafes dotted along the way.

It doesn’t matter if you’re chasing a fine dining experience or a quick bite, there’s something to fuel your cravings.

As a breakfast and coffee enthusiast, I loved that there were so many amazing places to try.

My Place and Canteen Kitchen and Bar are great for modern cuisine.

You can spend plenty of time around Coolum Beach itself, but if you want to take a break from being seaside, there are also great experiences within a short drive, including shopping and walking trails.

Climbing Mount Coolum is a wonderful way to start the day and a popular one at that.

You get a dose of exercise and the view from the summit is truly spectacular; a 360 degree overview of the Sunshine Coast.

Location, beautiful beach, fantastic food, incredible views and vibes – what more can you ask for?!

So, next time you are planning a visit to the Sunshine Coast, make sure you have Coolum Beach in mind. I plan on heading back at some point myself.
